My Story
|
I am a South Louisiana girl through and through, graduating from Louisiana State University (LSU) in December 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication, concentration Public Relations, and a minor in business.
I've had an interest in digital art since high school, but was never able to tap into the desire. Throughout my college years and young professional career, I was fascinated with the design elements of every project. Before long, I was teaching myself graphic design and have fallen in love with the craft ever sense! I find freedom in having a blank (digital) canvas to to express the my artistic passion. As a devout Catholic, my faith influences my work. It is through beauty that we encounter God and it is through beauty that God speaks to the soul of Himself. I seek to express this same beauty in every project, to make the beauty of our faith as tangible as possible. The beauty in art the Church calls for I find necessary even in graphic art, as we live in this digital age. I specialize in helping clients bring this beauty into every piece of work - whether it be a brochure, flyer, greeting card, or even rebranding. I love helping client turn their visions into reality, working with them step-by-step to develop a their desired piece. In my spare time, I am a seamstress - specializing in liturgical sewing and embroidery. This is another hobby where my creative skills find their outlet in glorifying God. Everything I have is our Lord's, and everything I do is for Him and His glory through the Immaculate Heart of Mary and with the help of her beloved Spouse St. Joseph and my patron saints. |
"Sacred art is true and beautiful when its form corresponds to its particular vocation: evoking and glorifying, in faith and adoration, the transcendent mystery of God, the surpassing invisible beauty of truth and love visible in Christ, who "reflects the glory of God and bears the very stamp of his nature," in whom "the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily ... Created 'in the image of God,' man also expresses the truth of his relationship with God the Creator by the beauty of his artistic works."
- Catechism of the Catholic Church #2500 - 2503
